A right sided forward, Don Rossiter was an Arsenal reserve team player for two periods in the 1950s. He later became a councillor for the Tories in the Medway area.
John Roberts: The Arsenal 1969-72
John Roberts was the 532nd player to appear for Arsenal. A Welsh international he was a more than useful member of the first team squad filling in the role of no-nonsense centre-half. He won a League Championship winners medal for his appearances in the 1970-71 campaign, during the double winning season.

Today we pay tribute on Armistice Day to the players who before the war represented Woolwich Arsenal FC but who weren’t necessarily with the club at the beginning of the War. These men paid the ultimate sacrifice being Killed In Action or dying as a result of the war. We have also included players who received career ending wounds.
As Vic and Bob would say: Look at the size of that trophy !!!
Very recently the only one man still alive from the match, the Portuguese substitute Sanfins, currently aged 92, visited FC Porto’s museum to see the trophy he helped to win.

This match means so much to so many fans of a certain age (ie our own) that we felt it had to be the classic match. Spurs were undone on their own pitch after seemingly being so sure of qualification into the final.
Though there are others that could have been recorded most obviously the 1971 or 2004 League clinching performances at White Hart Lane, but they have recently been commemorated quite brilliantly by a hardy bunch of Arsenal chaps during this summer, on a stag do that looks like it was a lot of fun!
